My world has lost its colour.
All i see is black and white,
and shades of grey.
I don't want the world to see me like this.
I need my haven of peace.
To friends who care:
Thank you for walking with me all this way.
To those unknown:
Please give me my haven of peace.

Saturday, May 21, 2005 Hong Kong Day 1
Yeap! Here's a day by day photo journal of my trip to Hong Kong. Hehe~ Not gloating about it or anything but just wanted to share some of the photos with ya all. Went there for 5 days earlier this month for holidays. Well... here goes!
Took an extremely early 6.40am flight. Add the early morning grumpiness together with the effects of air-pressure that i suffer and the drowsiness from the medication... Did really enjoy much of the view from the plane but looking at the photos now. The view was superb...
Well, since we went there free and easy without a tour group or anything, it was really about getting ourselves around. Took the airport express from the airport to our hotel. Had to pass the famous Tsing Ma Bridge to get from Hong Kong island to Kowloon.
Sorry but was left sleeping in the hotel most of the day from the effects of medication that there ain't any photos worth posting. Well, here's a photo taken at the MTR station, Jordan, near our hotel. It was the main form of transport getting around. Very similar to our MRT except much more crowded...
Went to have dinner at ermz.. a roadside kinda eatery place although it was kinda like indoors as well... hard to describe exactly. It was just around the corner near the hotel and temple street night market. Wanted to try "autentic" hongkong food although it's much like chinese food i guess. Typically, the would serve hot tea once you are seated although you ain't really advised to drink it unless it's "fresh and hot"... And look, coke is still sold in glass bottles! Haha, seldom see it in Singapore nowadays...
Contrary to what Karen told me, i saw quite a number of such illegal roadside hawkers. Just didn't have the guts to try the food since i doubt the hygiene and that i have a strong enough tummy. Haha~
The ice-cream van! Yeap, it's a common sight at night near such night markets and easily spotted by the cute polka dots and music that it plays. An ice-cream cone cost about S$1.20 . Not that cheap, aye?
The night markets take up more than 1 street alone as the streets are closed to traffic at night for the purpose of such night markets. The streets are lined with stores selling imitation goods ranging from branded gucci or prada handbags, nike or puma shoes to soft toys and other female accessories. What did i get for myself? Hmm.. let's see, a pair of nike shoes, a paul frank watch, an emily bag... and the list goes on. LOL!
Well, if you have yet to hear from the news about the complains of the increasing street lights and signboards in HongKong... here's a photo of what it's all about. Need i say more? The windows are all closed with blinds and curtains to block off the lights from the streets at night or else you'll never get to sleep with the glare...
Okay! That about ends it for day 1 since we didn't really do much. Will post day 2 soon!
